GMoney Anchor - First of all, I would like to ask you, what are Hemorrhagic Cysts?

Dr. Aakanksha Kumar – So, a hemorrhagic cyst is basically like a water balloon, similar to a normal cyst but filled with blood. It’s located on the surface, usually on the upper side. These types of blood-filled cysts are called hemorrhagic cysts.

GMoney Anchor - If I were to ask you about its causes, what would you say?

Dr. Aakanksha Kumar – Its causes are usually asymptomatic, meaning most people don’t experience any symptoms. However, sometimes it can lead to irregular periods in women, like when a woman’s periods don’t arrive on time. It can also be due to irregular bowel movements, such as diarrhoea or constipation.

GMoney Anchor - Okay, and if I were to ask you about the symptoms, what can you tell me?

Dr. Aakanksha Kumar – Well, usually this condition is asymptomatic, meaning that about 70-80% of women don’t experience any symptoms. But occasionally, if the cyst grows in size significantly, say, more than 7 centimetres, it can cause pain in the lower abdomen, and the patient may experience severe pain if the cyst twists. In such cases, it can be an emergency, and the patient should seek immediate medical attention.

GMoney Anchor - If someone has a cyst, are there any foods they should absolutely avoid eating?

Dr. Aakanksha Kumar – They should avoid eating outside food, highly spicy or oily foods should be avoided.

GMoney Anchor - If I were to ask you about the line of treatment, how is it typically treated?

Dr. Aakanksha Kumar – First, we would treat any symptoms the patient is experiencing. For example, if the patient is in pain, we would provide IV antibiotics and intravenous (IV) therapy. It’s essential for the patient to follow up with us monthly, as this allows us to monitor the size of the cyst. Based on the cyst’s size, we can decide on the appropriate treatment.

GMoney Anchor - Right, and my final question for you would be if you have any tips to share with everyone.

Dr. Aakanksha Kumar – The most crucial thing is to maintain a healthy lifestyle, which includes a healthy diet, regular exercise, and meditation. It’s essential to avoid alcohol and smoking. In your diet, include yoghourt, fresh salads, and green vegetables as much as possible.

GMoney Anchor - Thank you so much, Doctor. This session was very informative, and we appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule for our Jivani Health Show. On behalf of the entire team, we would like to express our gratitude to you.
